In the game
What one coin does in your club
Coins are the money of Ultimate Team; EA’s full name for the FC 27 mode is Football Ultimate Team, or FUT. They come in as you play: match rewards, Objectives, and weekly rewards from Rivals, Squad Battles and Champions all pay out in coins. EA says Champions and Rivals matches in FC 27 can pay several times more than the 500 to 600 coins a typical FC 26 match brought in. Quick-selling items you no longer need adds a little more.
They go out on the Transfer Market, where players list the cards they want to sell. Every item has a lowest and a highest price it can be listed at, so no single card can be priced at an absurd sum, though EA doesn’t publish the limits. When you sell, player guides put EA’s cut at 5% of the final price: a card that sells for 10,000 coins pays out 9,500.
A coin you earned and a coin you ordered look exactly the same in your balance. The difference is only in how they got there, and that difference is what EA’s rules are about.
Points and coins
Coins and FC Points are not the same money
FC Points are EA’s own paid currency, bought with real money. Coins can’t be bought from EA at all: its help pages say you earn them by playing and by selling items, and that buying them from a third party is against its rules.
That is the trade an order here involves. You skip the hours it takes to earn a balance, and you accept that EA’s rules apply to your club, including the actions EA lists for clubs it believes broke them. Read what the ban risk looks like before you decide.
Platforms
Where a coin can and can’t go
- From PS4 to PS5 and back: one shared club.
- From Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S and back: one shared club.
- Between PlayStation, Xbox and PC: separate clubs, no transfer.
- To a friend’s account: EA bans sending coins between players.
Short answers
Questions about the coin

How much is one FUT coin in pounds?
Roughly 0.0053p at today’s price on PC, which is why nobody sells single coins. A thousand cost about £0.05, a hundred thousand £5.34 and a million £53.41. These are estimates in pounds: at the checkout you pay the euro amount, with the fee of whichever payment method you pick added on top.
How many FUT coins does £10 buy?
About 187,220 coins on PC at today’s price, before the payment fee. That clears the 100,000-coin minimum, so a tenner is enough for a first order. Prices are read again every morning, so the same £10 can stretch a little further or less far tomorrow.
Can I send FUT coins to a friend?
No. EA counts sending coins to another player as coin distribution and lists it among the things that break its rules, along with funnelling coins from several accounts into one. Coins ordered here go into your own club only, on the platform you choose in your ticket.
Is a FUT coin worth the same on every platform?
Inside the game, yes: a coin buys the same on any platform. Buying coins costs different amounts, though, because PC players keep a separate club and, player guides say, trade on a separate market. Today’s price of 100,000 coins: PlayStation £5.47, Xbox £5.47, PC £5.34.
Why does the price of a FUT coin change?
The checkout sets its price each day, and every morning we pick the lowest-priced offer that’s in stock on each platform and convert it at that day’s euro rate. So both the coin price and the pound move a little. If the price drops after you’ve paid, the difference isn’t refunded.
