The rules on getting money back come from the checkout, which takes the payment and runs the delivery. Its policy is short but written for every kind of order it handles; this page translates it for coin orders, says where the 10% fee applies and points out what the policy leaves unsaid.

At a glance

What you get back, case by case

Six situations, taken from the checkout’s refund and pricing policies.

  • The order couldn’t be completed: the full amount back, no fee.
  • Delivery already under way and stopped: part back, based on progress.
  • You changed your mind: money back minus a 10% cancellation fee.
  • Your account doesn’t meet the service requirements: 10% fee too.
  • The price fell after you paid: the difference isn’t paid back.
  • More than 21 days since the date of payment: outside the window.

Time limit

21 days from the date of payment

The checkout’s policy sets one period for returns and exchanges: 21 days, counted from the day you paid. It doesn’t move if the delivery started late or if you only looked at your balance a week later, so the date on your payment confirmation e-mail is the one that counts.

For a coin order, delivery is quick: Comfort Trade runs within 2 hours of your EA details reaching the order. That means most of the window is time to spot problems after delivery, not time spent waiting for it. If something looks wrong, contact support straight away rather than near the end of the 21 days.

Full or partial

All of it, part of it, or minus a fee

When the order can’t be completed

If the checkout can’t deliver your coins for any reason, the policy promises a full refund with no cancellation fee. It doesn’t matter what stopped the delivery: if the order can’t be finished, nothing is deducted.

When delivery has already started

Once an order is In progress and you ask to stop it, you’re eligible for part of the money back, depending on how far it has got. The progress bar in My Orders is a good guide to where things stand before you ask.

When you change your mind

Cancelling because you no longer want the coins is allowed, but 10% of the order amount is deducted from what comes back, to cover processing the request.

When your account doesn’t meet the requirements

The same 10% applies if the service can’t be carried out on your account because it doesn’t meet the service requirements. The policy’s own examples come from other games, such as a required level or region. For a coin order, a Transfer Market that won’t open in the Web App is one obvious example, since the delivery depends on it. Running through the checks before you order is the easiest way to avoid that fee.

Price changes

When the price drops after you pay

Coin prices move with the market, and we read them again every morning. If the price of your order falls after you’ve paid, the checkout’s pricing policy is clear that the difference isn’t refunded. The price you paid is the price of that order.

If you’d rather hold out for a lower price, hold out before paying: cancelling an order to place it again at a lower price would count as changing your mind, with the 10% fee.

One more thing for UK cards: the order is charged in euros, and the pound figures on this site are estimates at the day’s rate. The pound value of any money returned depends on your bank’s rate when it arrives, so it may not match the pounds that left your account to the penny.

How to ask

No cancel button: here’s what to send

Refund requests go to support at the checkout, which answers around the clock by live chat, on Discord and by e-mail, all listed on the checkout’s own pages.

Send all six of these in your first message and nobody has to come back to you for them. The order number is on the confirmation page you saw after paying and in the payment confirmation e-mail; the amount and payment method are on the same e-mail. Keep the reason short and specific: “the Web App market won’t open on my account” is far easier to act on than “it didn’t work”.

  • Full name
  • E-mail used for the order
  • Order number
  • Order date
  • Amount and payment method
  • Reason
If the problem is with the delivery rather than a wish to cancel, say so. A typo in the details, or backup codes that ran out, is a live chat message with your order number, not a cancellation request. How delivery works is explained on Comfort Trade.

Short answers

Money-back questions

Illustrated fictional playmaker in a white and purple kit with a ball under his arm

Do the 21 days start when the coins arrive?

No, they start on the date you paid. Delivery normally finishes long before the window closes, so in practice the 21 days are there for problems you notice afterwards, such as a balance that came up short. Raise anything like that early, while the order and its chat are fresh, and have the payment date ready because support asks for it.

Can I cancel an order myself?

Not from My Orders: there is no cancel button there. Cancelling goes through support at the checkout, by live chat, on Discord or by e-mail, all listed on the checkout’s own pages. Give them your name and order number, the day you ordered, how much you paid and by which method, and your reason for cancelling. If the coins are already on their way, the sum returned reflects the progress made by then.

Is there a fee if the order can’t be delivered?

No. When the checkout can’t complete an order, for whatever reason, the policy promises the whole amount back with no cancellation fee. The 10% deduction applies only in two situations: you changed your mind, or the service couldn’t be carried out on your account because it didn’t meet the service requirements.

What if EA takes the coins back later?

The policy is about the order itself: whether it was delivered, and how far it got if it was stopped. It doesn’t mention anything EA might do to a club afterwards, so don’t count on money back in that situation. That is one more reason to read about the ban risk and only order an amount you could lose.

How long until the money is back in my account?

The policy doesn’t give a timescale, and it doesn’t say which route the money takes either. Ask support at the checkout when you make the request, so you know what to expect. Because the order was charged in euros, the amount that reaches a UK account in pounds also depends on your bank’s exchange rate on the day.
