On PC, FC 27 comes from the EA app, Steam or Epic, but every copy runs on an EA account and every club is a PC club. Here is what sets PC apart for an order: its own market, its own price and a longer wait before a new club can trade.

EA app, Steam, Epic

Three stores, one EA account

EA sells FC 27 for PC in three places: Steam, the Epic Games Store and EA’s own app. Wherever you bought it, the game still goes through the EA app and needs an EA account, and EA’s buy page spells that out for Steam and Epic copies too.

That EA account is the part an order cares about. Delivery signs in to it, so the e-mail you give later has to be the one on the EA account your PC game uses, which is not necessarily the address behind your Steam or Epic profile.

PC is also a club of its own. EA keeps progress within a single platform, so nothing in a PC club is shared with a club on PlayStation or Xbox, and coins can’t be carried across in either direction.

Its own market

Why PC can cost more or less

When the console markets were joined for FIFA 23, PC was left out of the merger; according to player guides, FC 27 hasn’t changed that: one market for consoles, a separate one for PC. A separate market has its own supply of players and its own buyers, so the coins sold for it are priced on their own as well.

This morning that works for PC players: £5.34 per 100,000, about 2.3% below the cheaper console at £5.47.

Matches are mixed, trading isn’t

Cross-play places PC in the current-generation group with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, so you can easily meet console players in online matches while, according to the guides, buying and selling only among PC clubs. Cross-play is on from the start, and you can switch it off.

New PC club

Why PC waits longer for the market

A new club opens the in-game market through EA’s Graduated Access: under Ultimate Team, then Objectives, there are three groups to clear in order. The Journey Begins is the opening group, followed by First Team Dreams; Rising Through the Ranks closes the set. After that, EA says full access arrives within 48 hours on PC, twice the 24 hours it gives other platforms. Until then, listing items is allowed, while searching, bidding and Buy Now stay locked.

EA’s stated reason is that limiting market access for new accounts protects the economy from rule-breaking. Returning players in good standing are spared the wait.

The Web App market is a separate lock again, and it is the one delivery needs. It opens after a number of active days. A day counts once you play three Ultimate Team matches to the final whistle and also log in to the app, both within the same UTC calendar day, and a good-standing account normally gets there in two. On a family PC, note this: if other Ultimate Team accounts were created or used on the same device, EA says it takes at least four. More in our Web App market guide.

Sign-in security

Backup codes, briefly

Two-factor authentication on an EA account sends a code whenever a new device tries to sign in; it comes by e-mail, through an authenticator app or as a text. EA supports passkeys too, but still recommends switching two-factor on.

Backup codes are the fallback. Once two-factor is set up, choose View backup codes and write the list down somewhere safe: EA calls them your sole route into the account from an unfamiliar device if the usual method can’t be used. Each code can be used once.

That is why delivery asks for them. Comfort Trade logs on to your EA account from someone else’s machine, and every sign-in spends one code, so send a few that are still unused.

Delivery

Getting coins into your PC club

PC orders are delivered by Comfort Trade, as Player Auction isn’t available at the moment. When you have paid, the order asks for its delivery details, in any case the e-mail tied to your EA account together with backup codes, and the coins follow within 2 hours of the details reaching the checkout. Details can’t be edited once sent; for a mistake, live chat at the checkout with your order number is the way to sort it.

Be clear about EA’s position before you pay. EA asks players never to share sign-in details or verification codes, its help pages name comfort trades as harmful to the game economy, and its User Agreement rules out buying coins at all. The possible consequences are set out on the ban risk page.

Short answers

PC questions

Do Steam and Epic players need an EA account?

Yes. EA’s own buy page says that FC 27 bought on Steam or the Epic Games Store still needs an EA account and the EA app. That EA account is the one that matters for an order: its e-mail address is what you give for delivery, and it may not be the same address you use for Steam or Epic.

Can PC coins be used on a console club?

No. PC keeps its own Ultimate Team club, separate from PlayStation and Xbox, and EA offers no transfer of coins from one platform to another. Funnelling coins from one account to another is against EA’s rules as well. Order for PC only if PC is where you actually play Ultimate Team.

Why does the market take longer to open on PC?

After a new club finishes the three starter Objective groups, EA gives full Transfer Market access within 48 hours on PC and within 24 hours elsewhere. EA explains the limit on new accounts as protecting the game economy from rule-breaking. Its advisors can’t shorten the wait, so plan an order for after the market opens.

How does the PC price compare with the consoles?

This morning that works for PC players: £5.34 per 100,000, about 2.3% below the cheaper console at £5.47. PC can differ because, according to player guides, it has a Transfer Market to itself, whereas PlayStation and Xbox clubs trade on a shared one. The checkout’s PC offer is read separately each morning, so the gap can change from day to day.

Why are backup codes needed for delivery?

With two-factor authentication on, EA wants a code each time an unfamiliar device logs in to your EA account. Backup codes are the way in when your usual method isn’t to hand, and each one works once. Comfort Trade signs in from another device, so every sign-in uses up one of your codes.
